Stille Nacht Museum Arnsdorf
The Stille Nacht Museum is located in Arnsdorf (only 3 km from Oberndorf).
Gruber, the composer of the famous carol "Silent Night", taught there for 21 years in the oldest school house in Austria which is still in use today. Also the classroom in which he taught is still the same. His teaching desk has its place of honour. The classroom, with its old school furniture, teaching and learning aids, as well as old school records, is open to the public in the Summer school holidays (second week in July until the first week in September).
The museum has been set up on the upper floor, where F.X. Gruber lived and worked with his family and many unique keepsakes give a broad view of "Gruber and his life".
„Maria im Mösl“ Pilgrimage Church
The organ that Gruber played on can still be admired in the „Maria im Mösl“ Pilgrimage Church (next to the museum).
