Franz Xaver Gruber lived the second half of his life in Hallein, where he was active as choir master and hymn specialist; most of his musical works were composed there.  Gruber´s last resting place is to be found opposite the town´s parish church and infront of his former residence - the "Silent Night Museum" of today.
