General Information

In Salzburg, every season of the year presents its most beautiful aspects, as seen at Advent- and Christmas time in this charming baroque city. The architectural beauty of the world renown city shines impressively during Advent. There are a variety of events in this „silent time" - reaching from traditional and lovingly prepared Christmas markets in small baroque town squares to the world famous (for more than 60 years) Salzburg Advent Singers and to the house where Joseph  Mohr was born. Joseph Mohr, the textwriter of „Silent Night! Holy Night!" was christened in the Salzburg Cathedral and also ordained there as priest in 1815.
